The 1XL M.2 has three antennas, two for Wi-Fi and a separate for Bluetooth. This configuration supports Wi-Fi MIMO operation on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands while Bluetooth is active. There is also version of the module, called 2XS M.2 that has a shared Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna, so two antennas in total. The trade-off for saving one antenna is Wi-Fi MIMO operation only on the 5GHz band if Bluetooth is active. This is an acceptable limitation for most applications.
